Minister Ring today welcomed the announcement of Application Details for Social Farming and Agri-Food Tourism Initiatives under the Rural Innovation and Development Fund. This is a public procurement procedure run by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Speaking today Minister Ring said “I am delighted to see continued progress in the implementation of the Government’s Action Plan for Rural Development and this announcement today is most welcome. Agri-food tourism is crucial to supporting enterprise and employment in rural communities and Social Farming is also a key element of the Action plan for Rural Development”.
The total funding available is as follows:
- €370,000 for at least 3 social farming model projects which can demonstrate a national benefit, and
- €450,000 for at least 9 projects supporting agri-food tourism initiatives (which may also include rural markets).
