Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development, has today visited rural initiatives in the Cavan and Monaghan communities of Bailieborough, Cootehill, Clones, Cavan, Ballyconnell and Dowra. Minister Ring’s visit focused on projects which have been allocated funding through a number of schemes administered by his Department. Minister Ring was accompanied by Heather Humphreys TD, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation and Senator Joe O’ Reilly.

Minister Ring said: “Today’s visit to Cavan and Monaghan has been a great opportunity to see the benefit that funding from my Department can bring to communities.  In 2018 I allocated over €6m to each Cavan and Monaghan to fund schemes from my Department. This Government is dedicated to supporting communities and enabling them to be the best that they can.  We are absolutely committed to delivering large and small scale projects for the people of this region.  Last night in Castleblayney I announced the second round of funding under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund, bringing allocations to these counties to over €5m under this Fund so far.
